Outdoor streetparties, the canal parade, many big parties to choose from, in other words, don't miss it!
Amsterdam Pride takes place the first weekend of August. Amsterdam Pride yearly has
street parties on the Amstel and Reguliersdwars area on Fri & Sat (till midnight)
the Canal parade on Saturday through Prinsengracht & the Amstel canal
the Closing Party in front of City Hall (Stopera) on Sunday Afternoon
During Amsterdam Pride there are also tons of parties, although it may also be the best time to visit
one of Amsterdam's many gay bars.
Amsterdam Pride is held the first weekend of August. The usually lovely weather then gives a great combination
with the parade, in Amsterdam Saturday on the Canals (Prinsengracht & Amstel), called Canal Pride, and the street
parties in the gay areas, as those streets are blocked for traffic on Friday & Saturday.
Sunday closes with an open air closing party in the afternoon/ early evening in front of the Stopera/ City Hall, or visit one of the big indoor parties.
The variety of big dance parties isn't all that, you have the Rapido parties for if you're a druggy, but luckily new parties start to emerge.
Specially interesting are the local gay venues, which are really big fun during pride.
The city is packed with gay people from all over the world during this weekend, so happy cruising, or, hold your partner tightly!
When strolling the city outside of the gay areas, do use your common sense and avoid too obvious gay behaviour.

Street parties
On Friday & Saturday streetparties take place in the main gay areas Reguliersdwars & Amstel, as well as open air stages at various gay venues.
Starting around 18:00 hrs, they last till midnight. You will find a stage here with either dj's, performances, and anything gay. At the Amstel it's
typical dutch sing-a-long, if you're a tourist make sure not to miss this. Also great and a bit less wellknown yet is the Zeedijk, which is adjacent to the Warmoesstraat area.
At the Homomonument, there are festivities, activities & dj's from Thursday till Sunday, from 15:00 hrs to midnight.
You usually find a very relaxed atmosphere here! (Tip).
This year you will also find an open stage at the Rembrandtplein (behind Amstel) with various entertainment.

Sunday afternoon Rapido, a party concept which started 5 years back, runs at Paradiso. If you like the sun, there's a great pride farewell party at city hall/ stopera and possibly at Rembrandtplein.
After that, you can continue till around 10am at one of the After parties.
